"INSURANCE RANT & WARNING .. Man..I will NEVER use State Farm or at least the Lee English Jr branch in Ripley Tn again & warn everyone else to steer clear & be vigilant about everything for your insurance.. After I bought my Jeep in April, I was sent (accidentally) two different beacons for the safe drive app discount..sure enough, the wrong one was unknowingly activated..I was receiving emails about not having an active beacon connected to my account..scared to lose my discounted rates, there were multiple phone calls (over a 2 month period) to this office to inquire about said emails..I was constantly told.."no you're fine..disregard the emails..don't worry about it..we've got you as connected" to which I did..then boom 3rd month my insurance went up $30 & they couldn't/didn't want to understand my frustrations..their explination was that I activated the wrong beacon & now had to repay the back month's discounts towards my premium..they sent a new beacon & refused to budge on the premium increase..offer any solution to rectify the mistake..even acknowledging they knew I had been calling & asking.. Fast forward to Aug 1st..I paid my monthly early (due on the 9th) per usual & asked about refunds as now I'm planning on switching since my policy was going up through no fault of my own while I activately tried to prevent what happened..I was told I would receive a check in the mail should I cancel policies & switch carriers.. Now forward to the 8th when I signed with AllState with triple the amount of coverage..a significant increase to my renters insurance and even cut my deductibles from $1000 each for auto & renters to only $500 & $200 respectively..PLUS even with out a drive wise discount am still paying $20/month less than I was.. I call on the 8th asking Megan to cancel my policies effective immediately & was assured they were cancelled as of 11:59:59 pm that night. The following week I get an email asking how I want my refund & after answering the questions it was processed immediately & back in my bank account that night.. However, instead of being the full $179.70 I had paid for the policy period Aug 9th - Sept 8th ..it was in the amount of $168.77..i called to inquire why my refund price difference was less & was told she would call me back..that call never came last week. Today I called & asked again about where's my money & what happened..to which I finally got a phone call back with the basic response being "your policy wasn't cancelled until the 10th"..NO IT MOST CERTAINLY WASN'T..."there's nothing we can do" I never had anything bad to say about this group & had even referred friends to them..but let me tell you..it may only be $10 here..& $17 a month more there..but that's still YOU being funny with MY money..& it boils down to them being incompetent & theft..you'll never change my mind or make me see it any differently.. never mind the fact that they stated that if I would stay with them my auto insurance was scheduled to discount down by $8 a month in October..IDC about that.. My proactivity about issues I had over a discount was dismissed as unimportant until it cause me an increase to my coverage..& could easily be proven it was their negligence..never once through any calm & cool conversations did I receive an apology..or did they admit they messed up..or even attempt to look into it as being an uncausable mistake... NOPE.. NOTHING.. ZERO.. ZILCH.. NADA.. IDK if all State Farm offices run in these principles but that is def one office I will now forever & always speak against..I'm glad I got out only having wasted about $50 total before something else similar would happen again... Like a good neighbor..State Farm was NOT there.. Let's see if I'm really in good hands now..."
